About Mary Prather

Mary is the author of SQUILT Music Appreciation. She is also the owner and author of Homegrown Learners, a homeschool community that helps you grow your learners ONE DAY AT A TIME.  She has been married to Hal for 23 years and they have two children:  Anna is a sophomore in college and Grant is a sophomore in high school. They have been a homeschooling family for twelve years.

  Mary has an undergraduate degree in Music Education from Southern Methodist University and a Masters Degree in Education from Georgia State University. After much experience in public schools and in her own homeschool, she discovered a need for quality music appreciation materials. Her passion now is to foster a love of beautiful music in children.
